Dried king fish | 1 Cup |
Finely chopped onions | 1 1/2 big |
Finely chopped Garlic | 8 pods |
Red Chilli powder | 2 tsp |
Turmeric Powder | a pinch |
Salt | to taste |

Oil | 2 tbsp |
Fennel Seeds | 1 tbsp |
- Wash dried fish in warm water, rub it nicely several times to get rid of all the salt and chop into tiny bits.
- Heat oil in a heavy bottom kadai or non-stick pan.
- Season the fennel seeds.
- Add Curry leaves, Chopped Garlic and chopped onions to fry.
- Saute it well till it turns translucent then add the salt and red chilli powder.
- Now add the cleaned dried kingfish, salt and stir it well with the onions.
- Add little bit (2 tbsp) of hot water and cook in the medium flame, fry it gently till the water evaporates.
- The cooked gravy should be in thick texture.
- Dry fish gravy is ready to serve.
